The high quality R.E. taught in our schools is designed to support pupils’ religious literacy, leading to them being able to hold balanced and well-informed conversations and worldviews. Our pupils learn to make sense of religion and the worldviews around them, and begin to understand the complex world in which they live. R.E. is primarily about enabling pupils to become freethinking, critical members of society, who can make well-informed judgements about matters of religion and belief which shape the world.
